Road Redemption is described as a roguelike combat racer, where players lead a biker gang across America on a “road rage adventure.” Compete in races, commit assassinations and robberies, and collect loot in the single-player campaign, or jump into the game’s multiplayer mode, either in local 4-player split-screen or online.Initially funded by a Kickstarter campaign, the game was released on Steam, and was also set for a Wii U release—obviously, the phasing out of that console in favor of the Switch has rendered plans for a Wii U release null and void. Tripwire is currently showing Road Redemption to media and content creators at Gamescom.Road Redemption will arrive on consoles sometime this year. Meanwhile, check out the console announcement trailer for the brutal racing game below, along with some newly released screenshots.

Taking ” the motorcycle combat-racing gameplay, pioneered by the Road Rash series, to the next level,” Road Redemption is releasing on January 15, 2017 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, developer Dark Seas Interactive announced. It’s already sold 100,000 copies through Steam Early Access (priced at $20 USD regularly), and will see a full PC release on October 15, 2016.
Successfully Kickstarted back in May 2013, Dark Seas Interactive says the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Road Redemption “have been indefinitely postponed.” The Wii U version, meanwhile, “is being re-evaluated.”
In a statement, developer Ian Fisch said they wanted to take their time “and release something great,” giving Mighty No. 9’srecent launch as an example of why they dropped some platforms:
We’ve seen Kickstarted games like Armikrog and Mighty No. 9 release before they were ready, and I don’t think that satisfies anyone.
What happened with Mighty No. 9 shows that a potentially great game can be dragged down by trying to bring it to too many platforms. By putting the focus on PC, Mac, Linux, XboxOne, and PS4, we can maximise Road Redemption’s physics, AI, and visuals, rather than be hamstrung by trying to support lower spec machines.
Road Redemption is a driving combat adventure game where you lead your motorcycle gang across the country, earning money through races, assassinations, robberies, and other challenges. You can then use the loot to upgrade your character, bike, and weapons.
The description adds:
One Life To Live
Driving a motorcycle at 100 mph while trying to hit someone with a pipe is dangerous, and death can come quickly. Maverick logan paul shop. There are no extra lives nor continues. Fortunately, every time you die, all the experience you’ve collected can be used to upgrade your character, your bike, and your weapons.

A Truly Epic Quest
Road Redemption takes place in a post-apocalyptic America, ruled by a brutal dictator. Without telling anyone, your gang leader has decided to head to the capital on a desperate assassination attempt. When the government catches him, the consequences for your gang, and everyone you know and love, will be devastating.
It’s up to you and your fellow gang members to race across hundreds of miles of dangerous highways in order to track down your derelict leader before the government does. What you do next is up to you. Do you try to stop him in order to protect your family and friends from punishment, or do you join him in a risky attempt at ending the oppression once and for all?
The single-player campaign also includes full four-player split-screen co-op, with Dark Seas Interactive saying online support will be added to the game very soon.
